The market town of Birkfeld consists of the districts of Birkfeld, Waisenegg, Gschaid, Haslau and Koglhof and thus has a varied leisure program for everyone. Birkfeld can confidently be called the cultural center of the Joglland - Waldheimat region: The Edlseer-Hoamat-Haus, the Hoamat Chapel and of course the Edlseer themselves contribute their part. Not to be neglected, however, are the culinary specialties in the market: in the district of Waisenegg is the traditional inn and toque Gallbrunner, with the legendary Z'sammgelegten dumplings or the Joglland Guglhupf, in Birkfeld the Felber chocolates or at the vinegar factory Oswald/Schaffer in Koglhof.

The idyllic Waisenegg Christmas market also takes place at the Gallbrunner inn. A sweet seduction awaits visitors at the Felber chocolate manufactory - and the running chocolate train. If you are in Birkfeld, a ride on the steam locomotive, the Feistritztalbahn, from Birkfeld to Weiz is not to be missed. For sporty vacationers and families, the Feistritztalradweg offers a great opportunity for a bike ride to Ratten or St. Kathrein am Hauenstein. Another highlight in Birkfeld is the summer toboggan run and the motor park in Koglhof.
