Deutsch Goritz

In the heart of southeastern Styria, known for its scenic beauty, lies the picturesque town of Deutsch Goritz. Surrounded by well-maintained healthy forests, visitors can expect a perfectly preserved townscape in whose centre the hundred-year old parish church is located with the remarkable frescoes by father Lukas Reicht. 

Hikers will find rest and rejuvenation with local wines and a hearty 'Brettljause' meal in the numerous inns and quaint wine taverns. And resting is part of relaxation, such as in the mineral water of the Peter spring. The Bad Radkersburg Park thermal springs and the Röcksee are just a few minutes' drive away. A visit to the Roman Museum of Ratschendorf and a walkable Noric-Pannonian grave hill, reconstructed in the original size, from the nearby burial ground 'Hügelstaudach' will excite all those who are interested in culture. The Seven Springs Path is part of the "Trails of Volcanoes", a network of hiking routes that runs from the extreme north of Vulkanland to Mureck and Bad Radkersburg. The new hiking route connects the former municipalities of Deutsch Goritz and Ratschendorf.
