Turnau is a rural market town in the heart of Hochsteiermark and lies in a quiet high valley at 800 metres at the foot of the Hochschwab. Turnau offers a very good infrastructure: bakery/pastry shop, butcher, grocery store and much more are mostly centrally located in the village centre. A wide variety of culinary tastes can satisfy their hunger with the diverse local offerings - from traditional regional cuisine in cosy inns to the “Wilden Wirte” in the Hochschwabvenison enjoyment region and gourmet chefs to hearty mountain hut innkeepers, there are all kinds of delicacies to enjoy in the Turnau region.
